12/04/2011  Hydraulic Marine Systems caps off a successful completion of the 2011 International Work Boat Show with an order from J & J Boat Works, Canaan, Indiana, for immediate delivery of a 300HP Isuzu Powered Heavy Duty Twin Hydraulic Thruster with extended reach capability.  Terms of the sale called for payment in full, with immediate delivery to their production yard in Canaan, Indiana, with delivery scheduled for December 9th, 2011.

11/15/2011  Hydraulic Marine Systems receives an order from Two Harbor Marine, Lincolnville Maine, for a Heavy Duty Fixed position outboard mounted thruster with related assemblies. The scope of supply includes 1 fixed position thruster (HD130-175hp range), Hydraulic Pump with Electronic Control, Hydraulic Reservoir with Filtration and Cooling Systems, a Portable Control Panel and Electronic Solenoid Operated Control Valve. Two Harbor Marine intends to mount the Thruster on their platform and connect it to their existing John Deere 220HP Diesel Engine. Terms of the contract call for a 60-90 day production schedule.

10/19/2011  Hydraulic Marine Systems recieves an order from PCL Civil Constructors Corp., through their PLC Construction Resources, USA Division, for a Perkins Powered Tier IIIA 175HP Heavy Duty Single Thruster, including our new upgraded Planetary Steering System with Hydraulic Brake.  With their 2nd New Thruster purchase this year being added to their growing inventory of HMS' Thrusters, PCL continues to display Confidence in these machines and a recognition of their cost effectiveness and efficiency in self-propelling platforms on their jobsites sites. Terms of the contract call for an accelerated delivery schedule of 10-14 days. With the new unit already in production and nearing completion at the time of purchase, the delivery schedule will be achieved.

08/30/2011  Hydraulic Marine Systems receives notice from the U.S. Patent and Trademarks Office of the Granting of another New Patent. The Patent, No. US 8,007,328 B2, granted August 30th, 2011, is the 3rd in a series, adding to a growing family of Patents involving HMS' Single and Dual (Twin) propeller self-contained Thrusters. Encompassing a broader spectrum of design features, This patent has been designated 'The Super Patent'. HMS is extremely pleased with this announcement in that it exemplifies our commitment to continuous development and upgrading of our line of products, utilizing advanced  technologies and incorporating those technologies into our products, now and into the future. 

08/19/2011  Hydraulic Marine Systems receives a purchase order from Kappens Tree Service, Cass City, Michigan, for purchase of a refurbished 50HP single Thruster with 180° Steering. The refurbishing includes a complete rebuild on the Deutz oil-cooled engine, upgraded Sauer-Danfoss Hydraulic Pump, refurbished propeller and new 50 gallon hydraulic reservoir. The unit will be put into service with Kappens' Seawall construction and repair division.

08/06/2011  Hydraulic Marine Systems completes and ships, 9 days ahead of schedule, the order for Edificadora Y Urbanizadora Del Sureste (Edyur Construction Co.) Veracruz, Mexico, allowing Edyur Construction to stay on track with their project in progress.

06/30/2011  Hydraulic Marine Systems receives an order from Edificadora Y Urbanizadora Del Sureste (Edyur Construction Co.) Veracruz, Mexico for a Perkins Powered 175HP Heavy Duty Single Thruster with Extended Reach Option. Terms of the contract call for an accelerated build schedule of 45-60 days. 

05/06/2011  Hydraulic Marine Systems has been awarded a contract from K&K Marine LLC., Amelia Louisiana, for 2 Isuzu Powered 300HP Self-Contained Heavy Duty Twin Thrusters with Dual Station Controls. The scope of supply calls for 2 Self-contained units (complete with Helm and Controls) in addition to hard-wired Remote Station Controls in the Elevated Wheel House. This will allow the operator the option to control the units from either location. Both units will be mounted on the same platform, producing a combined 12,000 lbs. Bollard Pull Thrust. Terms of the contract call for a 120 day production schedule.

05/05/2011 Hydraulic Marine Systems completes Atlantic Testing Build ahead of schedule; HMS completes production of Atlantic Testings' 175HP Thruster project 11 days ahead of schedule, allowing Atlantic to stay on track for their June Jobsite Start up. 

04/30/2011 Hydraulic Marine Systems ships ahead of schedule; HMS completes production of the Astillero GMA project twenty-one days ahead of schedule. The units are scheduled for arrival in Colombia during the latter part of May.  

03/17/2011  Hydraulic Marine Systems receives an order from PCL Civil Constructors Corp., through their PCL Construction Resources, USA Division, for a Deutz Powered Air-cooled 150HP Single Thruster with Extended Reach option. The extended reach option allows PCL greater flexibility in self-propelling both their shallow draft (3-5') platforms and their deeper draft  (7-9') platforms with the same propulsion unit. In adding to their inventory of HMS' Thrusters, PCL displays a continued confidence in these machines and a recognition of their cost effectiveness and efficiency in self-propelling platfroms on the jobsite. Terms of the contract call for an accelerated production schedule of 60-75 days. 

03/15/2011  Hydraulic Marine Systems has been awarded a contract from Atlantic Testing Laboratories Limited, Canton, NY., for a modified Self-contained Single Thruster with Auxiliary Hydraulic Controls. The scope of supply calls for a Heavy Duty 175HP Single Thruster equipped with a secondary hydraulic circuit and separate hydraulic reservoir for operation of an onboard Crane and Spud Winches. The Isolated secondary circuit allows for simultaneous operation of the Thruster and Crane/Winches. Powered by a Perkins Tier IIIA Turbo-Diesel Industrial Engine, the unit will also be equipped with an Auxiliary Gear Pump Mounting Pad (on the engine), for a future 3rd hydraulic circuit, which can be used to power a hydraulic generator or other equipment. Terms of the contract call for an accelerated production schedule of 60-90 days.

02/18/2011  Hydraulic Marine Systems has been awarded a contract from Astillero GMA Co., Medellin, Columbia, to supply main propulsion and control systems for a new construction Passenger Ferry. The scope of supply includes 2 fully self-contained Thrusters (built as opposing units with Port and Starboard footprints) and Pilot House Controls. Each Thruster will be independent of the other and will incorporate 180 degree steering with variable forward/reverse Thrust control. Upon delivery to the Vessel, each unit will be set into position and secured to the deck, then a Pre-wired 'Drop-in' Control Panel will be installed in the Pilot House. Color-coded wire harnesses will be connected at the Control Panel, routed and connected to the Thrusters. Both engines will be connected to the Vessel's main fuel tank and the system will be ready to power up. Installation of the entire propulsion system, including controls, is expected to be completed in less than one day. Terms of the contract call for a production schedule of 90-120 days.

02/07/2011  HMS ships completed production order to K.R. Borries Construction Co., ahead of schedule. All components of the order were completed and shipped February 7th, with K.R. Borries taking delivery February 9th.

01/25/2011  Hydraulic Marine Systems receives an order for delivery of a Self-contained 150hp Single thruster, to Constructora Hernan Solis Co., San Jose, Costa Rica. The purchaser, Mr. Roberto Acosta, indicated the unit will be mounted on a smaller platform which will be used for materials shuttling and positioning larger platforms on inland waterways. The inventory unit is scheduled for delivery in mid February, 2011.

01/19/2011  Hydraulic Marine Systems opens up negotiation talks with R.H. Mechanical Services Pty LTD., for Distributorship Representation in Australia.

12/15/2010  Hydraulic Marine Systems has been awarded a contract from K.R. Borries Construction Co., Gautier, MS. to supply an outboard mounted thruster package (300-350HP combined) minus the engine and fuel system. The scope of supply includes 2 outboard tilt-able drive mounts with Heavy Duty lower drive housings, 4-blade Workhorse Propellers with Steel Propeller Guards, Hydraulic Reservoir with Filtration and Cooling, Tandem Hydraulic Pumps, Electronic Control Valves and a Portable Deck Mounted Helm/Control Station with pre-installed Thruster and Steering Controls. K.R. Borries will complete the assembly and installation on-site, coupling the individual components to their existing engine and fuel system. The package allows them to assemble a low profile self-propelled platform for use on an upcoming project which includes work around and beneath low clearance RailRoad Tressles. Terms of the contract call for an accelerated production schedule of 60 days or less.

12/05/2010  Hydraulic Marine Systems enjoys another huge welcome at the International Workboat Show in New Orleans. For the fourth time in the last five years, HMS struck a deal for the sale of the machine displayed at the show. This year brought a tremendous turn-out and the continued interest for HMS' Thrusters was overwhelming! Mr. Rick Hay, with R.H. Mechanical Services, Traveled a great distance from Sydney, Australia to view the Twin Thruster on display and see first hand, the technical details incorporated into each machine. R.H. Mechanical Services purchased the machine and made arrangements to have it shipped to Sydney after the show. 12/05/2011

10/28/2010 Hydraulic Marine Systems completes initial Sea Trials with Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Co., on their newest self propelled Anchor Handling Barge. Put under way in Morgan City, LA., the vessel, under power with HMS' Outboard Mounted Thrusters coupled to an HMS supplied John Deere 601hp Power Pack, performed and manuevered impressively, achieving 6.5 knots on the maiden run. The vessel is now sheduled for re-location to Norfolk, VA. for final outfitting before being put into service in December 2010. 

09/07/2010 Hydraulic Marine Systems ships ahead of schedule; HMS completes and ships the Central Trenching project nine days ahead of schedule. Central Trenching's lift vessle is expected to be put into service in October, 2010, in time for winter drydocking operations.

07/16/2010 Hydraulic Marine Systems has been awarded a contract, through Diversified Product Development Co., Waco, TX.,  for a specialized project consisting of a Self contained Single Thruster (150hp) with secondary Hydraulic Circuit for operating a Knuckle Boom Crane. The end user client, Central Trenching, Inc., Minot, ND, has developed a specialized platform for lifting small pleasurecraft vessels out of the water for winter drydocking at a local marina. HMS' scope of supply includes providing the self contained thruster with a second separate hydraulic circuit, including its own pump, reservoir and valve controls. The second circuit will include a dual position valve control, allowing operation of forward and aft outriggers to stabilize the platform in the water as well as independent operation of a Knuckle Boom Crane mounted at the front of the platform.  Terms of the contract require an accelerated build schedule of 60 days.

07/14/2010 Hydraulic Marine Systems has been awarded a contract from Cain's Pipeline and Industrial Services Co., Addis LA,  for a self-contained Single Thruster (150hp) with dual control stations. The project calls for a self-contained unit to be mounted at the stern of their platform, along with a secondary portable helm (with steering and thruster controls) to be located near the front, allowing a better vantage point for visibilty. The secondary helm will include hydraulic controls with quick disconnects so that the helm can be disabled and locked when not in use.  front of the platformfff

07/02/2010 Hydraulic Marines Systems, Inc, is called upon to assist with Gulf of Mexico Oil spill cleanup/recovery by providing self-contained single and twin thrusters for shallow water oil skimming operations. Currently, every available unit has been re-directed to Gulf operations, with additional units in production for rapid delivery. These units are very effective in propelling larger skimming platforms in as little as 30 inches of water and are unaffected by the presence of oil on or below the surface.

02/02/2010 John Williams,  Owner / Hydraulic Marine Systems, Inc.,  recieves notice from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, that a Patent has been Granted for their Self-Contained Hydraulic Thrusters.  The Patent, No: US 7,654,875 B1 covers both their single propeller and dual (Twin) propeller self-contained Thrusters. The Patent carries with it 32 separate utility claims relating to the design of these Thrusters.

01/22/2010 Hydraulic Marine Systems has been awarded a contract with the Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company to supply a complete propulsion package for their newest anchor barge under construction. The barge will be self propelled with thruster controls operated from an elevated pilot house. Equipment to be provided for this project includes 2 outboard mounted heavy duty 180 degree thrusters equipped with hydraulic horizontal tilt, Kaplan propellers with prop speed (rpm) sensors and matched Stainless Steel nozzles; 1 remote mounted hydraulic power pack, fully enclosed and outfitted with hydraulic reservoir, valve controls, filtration system, fuel tank, powered by a John Deere 6135 600hp engine. The system will be shipped complete with pilothouse controls and electronic display indication panels. Terms of the contract call for a 90 day build schedule. 12/24/2009 Hydraulic Marine Systems has been awarded a contract ,from Alpine Ocean Seizmic Survey Co., to supply primary propulsion for a prototype ocean going exploration vessel. The vessel, an aluminum hulled 110' catamaran, is a former U.S. Coast Guard SES (surface effect ship) called 'Shearwater'. Equipment to be provided for the Shearwater includes 2 of HMS' outboard mounted 360 degree Heavy Duty Azimuthing Thrusters (455hp each), outfitted with electronically controlled hydraulic vertical raise/lower (1m), hydraulic horizontal tilt, Kaplan propellers with propeller speed (rpm) sensors and matched Stainless Steel nozzles. To complete the package, HMS will also provide components including hydraulic reservoirs, filtration systems, pilothouse controls with electronic display indication panels and a state of the art, wireless radio remote control system. The radio control system will allow the captain to transfer control of the propulsion system electronically from the pilothouse to a handheld radio transmitter where he can operate the controls from anywhere on the vessel. 10/03/2009 Hydraulic Marine Systems ships a fast order production unit 225hp Twin Thruster to Valsen Marine in New York for delivery to their Staten Island staging yard on October 5th.

09/04/2009 Hydraulic Marine Systems awarded a contract from Davie Shoring, Inc., Henner Louisiana, to supply  two units of outboard mounted heavy duty thrusters with complete mounting packages including pumps, hydraulic tanks, pilot house controls and onsite technical support for initial start up. These units will be installed on a compact push boat platform boasting twin engines with a combined 600/HP and will provide 2000 ft. lbs. of torque to produce nearly 9,000 lbs. of thrust. This powerhouse pushboat will be put into service moving restoration homes across Lake Ponchartrain in Louisiana. Hydraulic Marine Systems is proud to be a partner in this project and anticipates additional orders from the outcome.

09/03/2009 Hydraulic Marine Systems awarded a contract to supply one 225HP Perkins Powered Twin Truster to Valsen Marine, a Judlau Company, for service in New York City Harbor. Contract Agreement requires production to delivery on the jobsite no later than October 5th, 2009

08/14/2009 Hydraulic Marine Systems ships 6 units, Outboard Mounted Heavy Duty 360 degree Steering Thrusters, to PT Bosch Rexroth Group in Jakarta Indonesia. Customer design changes upgraded these units during production to include advanced electronics with propeller rpm indication and display in the pilot house of the recipient vessels.

07/01/2009 Hydraulic Marine Systems receives purchase order for one 275HP CAT Powered Heavy Duty Twin Truster from Luedtke Engineering Co. in Frankfort, Michigan. This unit ships from inventory and is to be put into service right away on in the Great Lakes Region.

06/05/2009 Hydraulic Marine Systems awarded a supply contract from PT Bosch Rexroth Group for 6 units of 360 degree Azimuth style, Outboard Mounted Steering Thrusters, to be fitted on three new Dredging Barges under construction in Jakarta, Indonesia. Terms of the contract call for a 60 - 90 day production schedule.

12/05/2008 Hydraulic Marine Systems received a huge welcome at the International Workboat Show in New Orleans. For the third year in a row, HMS sold a machine right off the floor at the show. This year, the newest 275hp Caterpillar powered, Radio Remote Controlled unit was purchased by Mr. Latham Smith with Smith Maritime, Inc. The machine was delivered immediately following the show, to Smith Maritime's 'Red Dog Barge Lines' operation in Morgan City, LA and was installed on their Dixie Diver Barge for utilization in the Gulf of Mexico.

10/06/2008  Hydraulic Marine Systems awarded a second supply contract from General Propulsion, LLC for two 225 HP Radio Remote controlled Twin drive Thrusters for export overseas. Delivery scheduled for December, 2008.

08/09/2008  Hydraulic Marine Systems finalizes lease agreement with a U.S. based company for shipment of two 140HP single Thrusters to Costa Rica. Both machines are on assignment for a marina project outside San Jose, and are scheduled for return to the U.S. upon project completion at the end of December, 2008.

05-02-2008 Hydraulic Marine Systems ships the first of multiple units to Europe.   HMS completed an order for a 125hp single thruster for delivery to Europe and has been awarded a contract to supply an additional 275 hp Twin drive unit with long reach drive capability and remote control systems added. This Heavy Duty unit will be powered by Caterpillar.

11-20-07 Hydraulic Marine Systems awarded contract to supply General Propulsion, LLC three 225 HP Radio Remote Twin drive units for export overseas. Delivery scheduled for January 2008.

08-14-07 Hydraulic Marine Systems preforms  load testing to certify pounds of thrust for twin drive and single thrusters. The unit tested was equipped with Stainless Steel matched Nozzles, 4 blade 24" Kaplan propellers, 175 hp Perkins engine and Eaton Heavy hydraulics. The results were as follows, the twin drive had an initial surge to 4400lbs dropping back to 4100lbs continuous thrust, single drive had an initial surge to 3000lbs dropping back to 2600lbs continuous thrust. It was an excellent perfomance overall. A DVD and copy of certification are available for the testing and demonstration of the T2216 (Twin Drive)
